Nigeria prepares to boost cashew sector |

In Lagos, Nigeria, ACA met with the National Cashew Association Nigeria (NCAN), an existing government-recognized body that aims to improve the cashew sector. NCAN expressed interest to link to ACA - being its national representation. The Nigerian American Chamber of Commerce hosted the meeting.

Export manual to guide cashew processors |

ACA Memorandum of Understanding signed |

Multi-national organizations like Kraft Foods, Olam and Ahold have signed the Memorandum of Understanding in partnership with donors like USAID supporting the African Cashew Alliance (ACA), defining the objectives and structure of the international organization. With the signatures of 15 founding members, the ACA is in full swing implementing activities to increase farmer income, expand cashew processing capacity and capitalize on the potential of the African cashew sector. Benin ACA country level meeting September 13 2006 |

Those were the no-nonsense priorities of the 75 stakeholders in West Africa’s cashew sector at the first country meeting of the African Cashew Alliance (ACA) in Benin on September 13, 2006. Farmers, processors, traders, financial institutions and others from Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Senegal and East Africa hashed out steps to improve the industry in Benin and the rest of the continent.
